ALEX KOLOPENUK January 18, 1941 - November 29, 2004 Peacefully after a lengthy illness Alex passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, November 29, 2004. Born January 18, 1941, Alex was predeceased by his parents Steve and Ann. Survived by his long time companion Kathy Akerstrean and her daughters Rosa, Angel (Trevor) and grandchildren. Also by his brothers, Joe (Eileen) Gimli, MB, Peter (Nina) Wetaskiwin, AB; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Alex loved the game of baseball, playing for Chatfield and Teulon Cardinals. Alex was proud to be inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in Morden, MB with the Chatfield Cardinals Team. Alexs work in the construction field led him to work in various parts of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and North West Territories. Alex will be missed by all those who knew him. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff, 5th floor Unit 4 Seven Oaks Hospital for looking after Alex. A memorial service will be held at Chatfield Community Hall in Chatfield, MB on December 4 at 11:00 a.m. Service will conclude at the hall, and a private family interment will follow.
