Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS NORMAN KRISTMUNDUR ALEXANDERSON Suddenly, on November 30, 2004 at the Betel Home in Gimli, Tom Alexanderson, a longtime resident of Arborg passed away. He was born September 13, 1918 to Gunnar and Nina Alexanderson on the home farm. He attended Ardal school and worked on the farm with his father and brother Joe until The Second World War. He then joined the army. After the war he returned home and continued to work on the farm until retirement. In 1975 he married Nellie Sine and they both loved to travel. Tom travelled to Iceland to meet his many relatives who kept in touch until his death. Tom was very proud of his Icelandic heritage. His grandparents were among the first settlers to land on Willow Island. Tom was a kind, gentle, considerate and patient man. He had a really good sense of humour and enjoyed a good joke. He loved to hunt deer, ducks and geese. He was always there if anyone needed a helping hand. He leaves to mourn his passing his family, Yvonne, Robert and family; Keith and family; Geralds family; sisters-in-law, Ozella and Bertha; many nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his brother Joe in 1959 and his beloved wife Nellie in 1998. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held in the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg on Monday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at Arborg cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the nurses, care workers and staff who took excellent care of Tom making his stay at Betel as comfortable as possible.
