A Second World War veteran he participated in the liberation of Holland and returned in 1995 to Heino, Holland to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of this event. He married Cathlene May Cameron in 1946. He was predeceased by his mother Lottie (nee Stecyk) in 1972, his sister Louise (1975), and his father George (1987). He worked as a Maintenance Foreman at the Shell Oil Refinery in St. Boniface. He had a keen mechanical sense, having taken apart and reassembled a car engine at age 16. He will be remembered by his wife May; sons, Greg (Valerie) and Robert (Cheryl) and grandchildren, Daena, Dustin, and Perry. He travelled with May to Australia, Hawaii, Jamaica, Europe, and various destinations in the United States to golf. He liked and participated in gardening, baseball, curling, bowling, golf, hunting, fishing, and drinking beer. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Donations in Wallys name can be made to the charity of ones choice. A special thanks to the staff of North Geriatric Ward, Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Kurt Schwarz for his ministries.
