RICHARD (DICK) RYZOWSKI It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle Dick. On December 2, 2004, Dick slipped away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and with his wife Bernice holding his hand. Dick will be truly missed by his wife Bernice, daughter Jodi, son Ed and his grand-dog Jewel. Dicks lap was never empty when Jewel came to visit. Dick will always be loved and remembered by his siblings, Pat McTaggart and husband George, Bill Ryzowski and wife Barb, Gloria Lethbridge, Susan Rogers and husband Gerry. Dick also leaves to remember him, his brother-in-law Jack Watson. Dicks nieces and nephews will miss their Uncle Dick (or Uncle Moose as Paul called him). Welcoming Dick with open arms are his parents, Pat and Paul Ryzowski; his mother and father-in-law, Vi and Ed Watson; and his special friends, Ray and Ted. Dick was born on June 11, 1942 and was the apple of his older sister Pats eye. In his youth, Dick was often called upon to settle a score for his little brother Bill. Dick never turned him down and never lost a fight! Dick was quite a ladies man and wasnt interested in settling down, that is, until he met Bernice. They married on July 19, 1969. Dick loved his children deeply and was so very proud of their talents and accomplishments. Dick worked for Eastman-Kodak for many years until he opened his own microfilm business. Dicks struggle with diabetes forced an early retirement. At Dicks request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to the Additions Foundation of Manitoba, 1031 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8. It will greatly be appreciated. The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Paramedic Service, the staff of the Emergency Ward, 3 North and the ICU at the Grace Hospital for their dignified and compassionate care of Dick and his family. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • What a great uncle to have. I remember him taking me to Kodak when I was very young and processing microfilm in the absolute darkness - very impressive . He would often come up to visit us in Thompson and have lots of great memories of us slaughtering those walleye. Certainly a person I looked up to throughout my life. - Posted by: Paul Phillips (Nephew) on: May 10, 2022

  • Hey Big Brother, Today would have been your 78th birthday. I can't imagine you at 78 but I bet you would have been a cool old dude! I love you and miss you every day. Love, Sam - Posted by: Susan (Sister) on: Jun 11, 2020
