Date of Passing: Dec 04, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryL. ROBERT (BOB) KEEPING Bob was born on June 14, 1946, and on December 4, 2004, he lost his courageous fight. He passed away peacefully at the Selkirk and District Hospital and has now gone on to join his mother and father. He was predeceased by his father Maurice (Morris) in March of 1983; and his mother Rose in May of 1989. Bob grew up in Selkirk, MB, on the corner of Manchester Avenue and Sophia Street and lived the majority of his life there. In 1987 he and his mother moved to Greenwald, MB, and started a small business, raising and selling bedding plants. Most recently Bob resided in East Selkirk on his farm where he continued to pursue his lifelong passion for photography. In addition to his photography, Bob raised prize goats which won him ribbons at various shows. Anyone who knew Bob quickly became a photo subject and a part of his collection of photographs. He very much enjoyed sharing pictures with friends wherever he had an opportunity to do so. In his earlier years on Manchester Avenue, Bob had his own darkroom and developed his own pictures. Bob was a true blue friend to many. He has acquaintances and good friends in the Selkirk area and as far away as Victoria, BC, and Toronto, ON. On Bobs behalf, we his friends, extend the most sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and the Selkirk and District Hospital for the care, compassion and love extended to him during his illness. You are very much appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for Tuesday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, with Mr. Eric McKinnon officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice in Bobs memory. Bobby, may you rest in peace. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
