DAVID ANTHONY FLETCHER It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dave on December 4, 2004 at the Grace General Hospital. Dave was born in Tungbridge Wells, Great Britain on October 25, 1943. He immigrated to Canada with his mother at the age of five to British Columbia, before moving to Winnipeg as a young man. Dave is survived by his sons, Dale and Blair; daughter Erin; grandson Liam; and half-siblings Elsie and Clarence Roncin. Dave worked for Videon Cable Systems for over 25 years and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the cable systems in the Winnipeg and rural Manitoba areas. Following his retirement from Videon, he worked briefly at Corpells Water. Dave became very active as a volunteer in the Alternatives to Violence Program as both a facilitator of workshops, and as the Secretary of the AVP Canada National Council for several years. Dave was always very ardent about both his work at Videon, and his involvement with AVP. Dave had a seemingly endless array of knowledge, and he was a masterful jack of all trades - there were few things that Dave couldnt converse about, fix, build or design. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and an informal memorial service will be held at Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Highway, on Friday December 10, at 2:00 p.m. A special thanks to the staff of the Five-North ward, Grace Hospital, and to Chaplain Captain Faye Shail for their compassion and care during his last months. As well, a grateful thank you to Russell and Catherine Loewen and to Paul Tomkins whose selfless acts of kindness and friendship are much appreciated. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Alternatives to Violence Project, in care of Liz Schroeder, RR 2, Hastings, ON, K0L 1Y0, or to the charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy. 284-7500
