Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY LACHANCE (nee MURRAY) December 8, 1921 - December 4, 2004 On Saturday, December 4, 2004 Dorothy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son DArcy (Kim) her daughter Kim Gohier of Alberta (Claude) grandchildren, Jillian, Cheylene and Johnathan; her sisters, Mary Aikman and Ethel Mounk; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also two very special friends, Thelma Ross (of Winnipeg) and Catherine Hogg (of Edinburgh, Scotland). Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Emile in 1981. While mom held numerous jobs in her lifetime, she retired from selling jewellery at the downtown Eatons store to pursue her most rewarding career choice of full time wife and mother. Mom was very much a people person who made everyone feel welcome and included. She loved her Scottish Heritage and the bag pipes, trips to the mall; lunches and coffee with friends; long phone conversations; numerous crafting endeavours; camping trips to Blue Lake Provincial Park, Ontario. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway with a private family graveside service to follow on Wednesday. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Maples Personal care Home for making her final days comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Mom, we know that you are dancing with dad, the Maple Sugar Waltz at the Goulet Hall.
