GARFIELD TURNER 1918 - 2004 Garfield Lloyd Turner (Gary) passed away on December 4, 2004 at Middlechurch Home, Winnipeg, at 86 years of age. Garfield moved to Winnipeg where he met Dorothy Roberts of Bangor, SK, and were married on March 25, 1945. Garfield and Dorothy had two children and lived in the Fort Rouge area until moving to Elmwood in 1974. Garfield was employed with various companies as a truck driver until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Fort Garry Branch, and later the Prince Edward Branch. Garfield was predeceased by his parents, Trevor and Edna Turner; brothers, Clayton, Earl, Ray and Frank; sisters, Gladys Kindred and Audrey Endicott. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his loving wife Dorothy (Doris) children, Wayne (Wendy) of Boissevain, MB and Lana (John) Burgoyne of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Wade and Jonathan of Boissevain, Michael (Alaina) of Edmonton, Allison (Brian) Dennis of Nanaimo, and Jacqueline Burgoyne of Winnipeg; one great-granddaughter Ashley Nicole of Nanaimo; two brothers, John (Helen) of Hastings, ON and Roy of Peterborough, ON; two sisters, Hazel Wood of Keene, ON, and Mary (Art) Steed of Keene; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home for their loving care and compassion. At Garfields request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 8 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Those wishing to do so, may make a donation in Garfields memory to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., R3L 0K6, or a charity of ones choice.
