FRANKLIN ROBERT HATCHER Peacefully, on Monday morning, December 6, 2004, Franklin Robert "Bud" Hatcher passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 75 years. He leaves behind his sons, David, Jeffrey (Leah Decter), Paul (Nadi) and their children, Mack and Jordy; and Don (Bibiane LaFleche) and son Mika; sister Babe; many friends, including many of his childrens friends and especially his lifelong friend and business partner, William Byman. Bud was predeceased by his sisters, Frances, Lillian and Edna. Bud was born in Winnipeg to parents Francis (Somerset, England) and Krispborg (Bertha) Christianson (Iceland) and spent his formative years in Norwood. He and Ruth Bauer married in 1952 and together they had four sons. He was a denturist by trade, but his real passion was music. Bud was a professional jazz musician as a young man, playing the trumpet, and a lifelong music lover. Three of his children are also professional musicians and he championed their careers until his passing. He had four older sisters. Babe, his surviving sister, is living in Burnaby, BC. Frances, Edna and Babe married and had families of their own, the Hodgert and Munn families of Winnipeg and the Warnick family of British Columbia. In compliance with Buds wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Buds memory may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 400 - 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3. "May the music always be good."
