Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN BRUCE (nee DOUGLAS) Peacefully, with her family at her side, Evelyn Bruce passed away at Poplar River, MB, on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at the age of 87 years. Evelyn was born at Poplar River on March 1, 1917, and had resided there her entire life. She enjoyed knitting, beading, sharing knowledge and loved telling stories. Kookoom was known for her witty sense of humour. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her children, Minnie Mason, Howard Bruce, Hazel Franklin, Adele Boyd and Mary Jane Bruce; sister Flora Bruce; and one sister in Pauingassi, MB. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband James Bruce in 1975; daughter and son-in-law Madeleine and Joe Paul; brother Roderick Douglas; sister Nina Flora Bruce; and niece Lillian Bittern. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, Wednesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 9 at the Poplar River School Gymnasium. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Poplar River School Gymnasium with Rev. Allan C. Sinclair officiating. Interment to follow at Poplar River Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lorraine Franklin, Donna Bruce, Laura Bruce, Eleanor Paul, Lillian Green and Loretta Anderson. KOOKOM REST IN PEACE Your teachings will always be remembered.
