MARY CHIKOWSKI On Wednesday, December 8, 2004, our beloved sister, Mary Chikowski, aged 87 years, passed away at the Pinawa Hospital. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three brothers, Nick, John, Mike (Sandra) Rychlicki; and one sister Pearl (Nick) Lacko; also many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1982; her brother Charles in 1944, who died overseas and one brother and one sister in infancy. Mary enjoyed her retirement, travelling throughout Canada and the United States with Mike, and then with family and friends. Her trees, flowers and garden were a showcase. She was an excellent cook and her home was always open to her friends for coffee and a game of cards. Mary looked forward to her daily visits to the Pioneer Club, playing cards, bowling and curling with her many friends. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Fr. Mirek Szynal the Celebrant. There will be viewing one half hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Larry and Justin Lacko, Wayne and Nicholas Lacko, Brian Rychlicki and Jim Leroy. The family wishes to thank home care, doctors and nurses at the Pinawa Hospital for their care and compassion to Mary in the last few months. A special thank you to Fr. Mirek, to Eileen and Kaz, Gladys and Olga Desjardins for their many acts of kindness. God Bless you Mary, May you rest in peace. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends and family so desire, donations in Marys memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
