Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN EDNA LANIGAN (DAVISON) On Tuesday, December 7, 2004, surrounded by family Evelyn Lanigan passed away in the comfort of her own home as she had wished. Born August 5, 1914 in Transcona she attended Central School and married George Lanigan on July 16, 1936 in Yale Avenue Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Annie Davison; brother Bob (Doreen) and sisters, Ruby (Gerry) Stanyer, Vera (Jack) DePodesta; grandson Darren Taylor; and great-grandson Burton Reimer. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Burton) Garner, Judy Taylor and Janice Lanigan; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Transcona Memorial United Church U.C.W. Unit 4 and Confidence Rebekah Lodge No. 40. She was a life member of Transcona Horticultural Society and a volunteer for many years for the Cancer Society, Park Manor Personal Care Home and Meals on Wheels to name only a few. She loved gardening and in her earlier years bowling, curling and square dancing. She enjoyed being part of family gatherings for holidays and celebrations and could always be depended on to volunteer her time and energy for any event insisting that she wanted to do her share. The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Tommy, the Rev. Jeff Cook, the staff on 7 W and 5 S at St. Boniface Hospital and her many friends for their compassion and support. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Cook will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oddfellow and Rebekah Memorial Eye Foundation, 4025 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, R3R 3V5; Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3J 0L3 or a favourite charity.
