MELVIN KOWAL Melvin Kowal of Minnedosa passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Minnedosa District Health Centre, at the age of 72 years. Melvin is survived by his wife Sylvia; two sons, Ted Kowal (Susanne Verbrugge) of Winnipeg, and Michael (Crissy) Kowal of Minnedosa; one daughter Michelle Jasper of Richmond, BC; six grandchildren, Nicole Kowal-Seafoot, Milana and Michaela Jasper, Jonathon, Adam and Matthew Kowal. Also surviving are one brother John (Valentina) Kowal of Winnipeg; and four sisters, Jean (Bernie) Fuller of Winnipeg, Mary Budzinski of Winnipeg, Emily (Mike) Peleshok of Shoal Lake, and Olga Krawchuk of Winnipeg. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Volodymyrs Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Oakburn. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be said Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Pozdyk will officiate. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake and Erickson are in care of the arrangements. (204) 759-2160.
