ELMA HAZEL STOKES Suddenly, on December 8, 2004 Elma Hazel Stokes passed away in Kelowna, BC at the age of 90 years old. Elma was born on April 10, 1914 in Winnipeg, MB and moved to Kelowna, BC in 1996. Elma was an avid volunteer at The Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. She will be remembered for her strength, determination and incredible wit. Her passion for life has shined in every aspect of her personality. She was predeceased by her loving husband George and daughter Janice. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Jim (Shireen) Stokes; grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa), Rayna and Jeremy; her son-in-law Bill Lawson; and numerous relatives and friends. A service of remembrance will take place Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow at Westbank United Church 3672 Brown Rd., Westbank, BC with Rev. Wayne Atkinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 250-1456 St. Paul St., Kelowna, BC V1Y 2E6.
