CECILIA DINGLEY (LAMBERT)
Date of Passing: Dec 13, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECILIA DINGLEY (nee LAMBERT) Peacefully, on Monday, December 13, 2004 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Celia Dingley, aged 71 years of Gimli, MB. Celia was the much loved wife, companion, and best friend of Arch for over 44 years. She also leaves to mourn her passing her son Kerr; greatly loved brother Pat and his wife Vi and family; and sisters, Florrie and Jessie. She was predeceased by her father and mother and younger brother Richard. Celia overcame many major medical problems in her life because, in her words, she had to live for Kerr and Arch, but even her fighting spirit could not overcome the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease, which she had battled for the past four years. Celia always believed that there was a life hereafter, and we know that, if this is so, she will be watching over us. Kerr and Arch would like to thank the staff at the Betel Home in Gimli for the care and attention they gave Celia over the past three years, and also Ludvig and Cecelia Casar and Martin and Merlyn Stroud for being there for Arch; and their many, many, untold acts of kindness. Thank you. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Pastor Rainie McKinnon officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the family plot at the Oxford Memorial Garden, Woodstock, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Celia's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald St, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2; or the Betel Foundation in Gimli, Box 50, R0C 1B1; or a charity of your choice, it would be appreciated. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.

Celia & Archie helped me so much when I was a young man. Archie taught me how to drive. I've been looking for them for years. They both helped me so much as a lad of 15, they would come with my parents to my lacrosse games. I lost touch in my troubled twenties. Oh how I wish I could have caught up with them in later years. They are both so loved & missed. Thank you Celia & Archie. - Posted by: Keith Needham (friend) on: Dec 09, 2012
