RICHARD PIERSON April 1, 1956 - December 14, 2004 After a courageous and brave battle, Rick went peacefully to be with his parents in heaven on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Richard will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Shannon; children, Jackie (Saul), Billy (Ashleigh), Tanya (Dwayne) and Tabitha aka Poo Poo; grandchildren, Tyrie and Ahlaina; sisters, Lynda (Damian) and Debby (Tony); aunty Ann and uncle Bobby; mother and father-in-law Marge and Danny Starr; best friend Mario Ammazzinni, also with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law and too many friends to mention. He was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandson Keith Richard William Pierson-Hill. He was predeceased by his father Keith Rocky Pierson; mother Jacqueline Pierson; uncles Bill Pierson and George Pierson and also brother-in-law Vince Guimond. Rick was born in Montreal, QC and moved to Winnipeg as a kid. Rick was an incredible man who had many passions in life and was a born salesman. He started his business Tantab from the ground up 12 years ago and built it into a successful business on his own, and was very proud of it. He had a real zest for life and showed many just what it meant to live life to its fullest and never had regrets. He showed many how to look up at the sky and enjoy it for all of its beauty. He was one of a kind man who touched people's lives and enjoyed many things including hockey, boxing, travelling, music, reading, teaching his children about the world, and about his rich family history, and of course his biggest passion, making a deal. He had the incredible ability to take money in one hand and turn it into more money in the other. He was an avid storyteller who could have a whole room mesmerized by his stories. He had a funny, off the wall sense of humour, and was known as a prankster in the dressing room. Rick was known as a man's man and was also a hero in the eyes of many and will be sadly missed. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support, prayers, and encouragement through Rick's battle. We would also like to thank all of the nurses and doctors of Seven Oaks Hospital and at the CancerCare at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion to Rick during his stay. A celebration of Rick's life will be held (Prayers) on Friday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 1:00 p.m. also at the chapel. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Billy Pierson, Tony Maligno, Burke Ratte, Brooke Welby, Patrick Starr and Mario Ammazzinni. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick's daughters and all of his friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rick's family. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

  • Rick, what can I say about this man that everyone doesn't already know? He was the kind of person you will or never want to forget. His laugh...contagious. He always knew the right thing to say, even if you didn't like it because you knew he was right! And he was always willing to do a favor and help someone out. I honestly looked up to this man and I still do. I'm so incredibly sorry for his family and I wish them all of my love. Remember always Rick "I got your back" Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Stacey (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2004
