BERTHA MAUDE MAY Peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Bertha passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Harold F. May in 1978. She will be sadly missed by her son Don May of Burlington, ON; daughters, Elaine (Doug) Sinclair of Winnipeg and Donna Blackwood of Orleans, ON; grandchildren, Erin (Michael) Penner of Winnipeg, Whitney and Ian May of Dundas, ON and Ashley Blackwood of Orleans; and great-grandchildren, Kailey and Maya Penner of Winnipeg. Bertha was born in Wigan, England, Lancashire in 1917. She had proudly served in the British ATS from 1939 to 1944. She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Bertha resided in Sudbury, Lively and Ottawa, ON before moving to Winnipeg in 1995. Cremation will have taken place. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Davis officiating. Reception to follow. Special thanks to the Rehab and 4th floor Unit 12 nursing group at Seven Oaks Hospital especially Helena, Maureen, Mame and Ruth. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. She was loved.
