JULIA JAY APPLER June 1, 1910 - December 14, 2004 Peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 Julia passed away at the Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudy on September 8, 2004, who was also living at the Fred Douglas Lodge. Julia is survived by her sons Harold (Bobbi) and Terry; sister Kathleen, Kay and brother Stanley Stan (Iris), both in California; grandson Salis (Kammy) and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. To all her friends she was known as Jay . However, to my brother and I, she was simply our Mom . Our mom was born Julia Braschuk in Komarno, MB on June 1, 1910. Her family moved to Winnipeg prior to the Second World War where she met her husband-to-be, Rudy. They fell in love and were married in 1937. Our mom always put her family first. She loved having her children over for Sunday dinner. Her roast beef and perogies were among her favourite dishes. She loved to plant her flowers around the house every spring and took joy in their beauty. Our mom loved to take walks, watch soap operas, visit friends and relatives, go camping, shop, play cards, and take trips. She always had a warm smile and hug at the ready. Mom, we love you and we will never forget you. Be at rest where you now dwell Forever at peace. - Farewell! The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Fred Douglas Lodge (Willow Unit) for their heartfelt care of our mom over the years. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign The Book of Condolences at: www.gleneden-mb.ca
