DOMENICO NOCITA Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 15, 2004, surrounded by his family, Domenico Nocita passed away at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his loving wife Erminia; sons, Ted (Dina), Joe, Tony and Sam (Loretta); grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Adam, Giordana and Teo; nephews, Terry (Donna) and Tony (Christine) Ferraro; nieces, Sophie (Teodoro) Barbuto and Vincenzina (Carmine) Battaglia. Domenico was born in Satriano, Catanzaro, Italy on February 25, 1926 and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1962. Domenico worked in the construction industry as a mason for over 30 years and took great pride in his craft. A devoted husband and father, his greatest priority during his working life was to provide for his family. He always encouraged his sons to achieve their best and in his retirement years, took great pride in following his sons throughout their accomplishments in all their pursuits. He also enjoyed his garden, making his wine and being surrounded by family and friends. His passion was soccer. He instilled his love of the game to his sons and grandchildren and was always very supportive as a teacher and an avid fan. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Viewing will take place on Saturday, December 18, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Interment will follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers are his sons, Ted, Joe, Tony and Sam; nephews, Terry and Tony Ferraro.
