Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS KATHLEEN HUNNIFORD GAILLARD 1906 - 2004 Doris passed away after a short illness, on December 11, 2004 at Concordia Place Care Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Edward and his wife Shirley of Kelowna, BC, Stephen and Evelyn of Raleigh, NC, and Robert and Margaret of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren, Mark, Jeffrey, Catherine, Janice, Heather, Leslie, Patty and Rob; five great-grandsons and one great-great-grandson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and in particular Doreen Hardie of Winnipeg who provided loving care and attention during her later years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Aristide Oscar in 1980; and her brothers, William and Norman; and sisters, Dinah, Jean and Winnifred. Doris was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1906 and immigrated to Canada in 1926 with her siblings and parents William John Hunniford and Elizabeth Greer Hunniford. She settled in Winnipeg and worked in the Hudsons Bay store prior to her marriage in 1930. After raising her family in the East Kildonan area she went back into retail work well into her 70s. Doris was known for her devotion to walking and exercising throughout her life and continued right up to her passing. She was unsurpassed in her skill in knitting and crocheting for all of her extended family and charities. Doris had a passion for reading and solving mental puzzles. She will be missed by all her friends in the Concordia Place Care Centre and the Lion's residence. In accordance with her wishes, Doris was cremated. A memorial service will be held in the Concordia Place Chapel, 4th flr., 1000 Molson St., on Monday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
