ROBINA S. FORBES (nee TAYLOR) It is with sadness that the family of Ruby Forbes announce her passing. She died peacefully on December 14, 2004 at Oakview Place Extendicare Home at the age of 95 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Walter Forbes of Mandan Manor, Sanford, MB; her brother Alex Taylor and family; nephew Bruce Forbes (Marlene) and family and nephew Ron Forbes. Also left to mourn her loss are Walter's grandchildren, Scott (Michelle), Tannis (Tim) Swords, Terry (Kristin) and seven great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law Edward Forbes, sister-in-law Dorothy Taylor, as well as great-niece Diane Forbes. Ruby was born in Perthshire, Scotland, on January 23, 1909 and moved with her parents to Canada at the age of 11. They lived in Sanford, Oak Bluff and then Charleswood. Ruby lived a long and happy life. She worked at Eatons Mailorder for 18 years and then retired to live in Oak Bluff, MB. She married Walter Forbes on July 29, 1978. She lived to celebrate their 26th Wedding Anniversary. They lived in Oak Bluff and then in the Mandan Manor in Sanford. Ruby's health required that she be placed in a personal care home in July of 2003 and she resided at Oakview Place until her death. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg.
