Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES DAVID WINSLOW Passed away peacefully at the Souris Health Centre on December 5, 2004. Charlie was born on March 31, 1926 in Portage la Prairie, MB to Charles and Isabella Winslow. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Alice; son Scott (Sylvie) and grandsons, Ben and Tommy of Winnipeg, MB. Charlie will also be missed by his sisters, Rose (Bill) Jones of Brookdale, MB and Kaye (Stew) Haslen of Yorkton, SK and brother George (Sheila) Winslow of Crossfield, AB and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Isabella; sister Edna and brother-in-law Bert; brother John and brother William. Charlie and Alice were married October 4, 1947 in Saskatoon, SK. They went to live and work in Flin Flon, MB, before moving to Souris to farm in 1954. In 1968 Charlie received his private pilots license and loved to fly as a hobby. Charlie was heavily involved in the Souris Flying Club and the Turtle Mountain C.B. Club for many years, serving on the Executive for both. In 1982, Charlie started a lawn and garden business which he ran until he retired in 2002. He had many hobbies like flying, hunting, fishing and bird-watching. Charlie also had many talents and was an exceptional craftsman and mechanic. His ingenuity and creativity helped him remain independent through his long illness. He was a great story teller and a loving grandfather. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
