DR. CHARLES D. RUSEN Dr. Charles D. Rusen passed away on December 12, 2004. He was predeceased in 1992 by his beloved wife Mollie, of almost 52 years, and by his four brothers and sisters and their spouses. He is survived by his children, Jack and Joan Rusen and David and Brenda Rusen; his grandchildren, Rachel and Aaron Margolis, Amy and Daniel Samphir and Breean Rusen and Jamie Rusen; and his great-grandchildren, Nicole and Mitchell Margolis. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Clara Diner and Jocelyn Brenner and by his many nephews, nieces and friends and by the many people whose lived he touched. Charlie was born and raised in Winnipeg's North End and attended Norquay School and St. John's High School and the Universities of Manitoba, Minnesota and Alberta. He graduated from Dentistry in 1938 and practiced dentistry for 57 years until his retirement in 1995. He had a wonderful reputation as a dentist and was known for his gentle touch. He was part of the original Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba and formed lasting relationships and friendships with his colleagues and students with whom he was so popular and well liked. He was a great left-handed softball pitcher for the YMHA and was considered to be one of the best pitchers of his time. He was a man of exemplary character who had a charming personality and a wonderful sense of humour and he will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 14 at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Pallbearers were Jamie Rusen, Aaron Margolis, Daniel Samphir, Joseph Diner, Aubrey Rusen and Gary Brenner. Honorary Pallbearers were Ralph Sotolov, Manly Rusen and Dr. Alvin Shinoff. TO LIVE IN HEARTS LEFT BEHIND IS NOT TO DIE.
