VERA JANSEN It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Vera Jansen at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall on December 16, 2004 at the age of 89 yeas. Vera was born in Stonewall in 1915, daughter of Emily and William Yeo. In 1939 she married Tom Jansen. They resided in Stonewall and were blessed with two children, daughter Emily and son Bill. In 1947 they moved to Baldur, where they operated the Baldur Bakery. After retirement and Tom's passing she continued to reside in Baldur until 2001 when she took up residence in Rosewood Lodge. Vera was especially proud of her family's accomplishments and was always a source of encouragement. She was very generous and always there when support was required. She touched many with her quick wit and sense of humour. Many hours were spent enjoying music, knitting, doing embroidery and watching curling when she no longer could participate in the sport. Mom will be fondly remembered by her family, daughter Emily Williamson; son Bill (Rose) Jansen; granddaughter Aynsley (Jorg) Klinger; and great-grandson Beaufort Klinger; sister Edith Mason; and nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by husband Tom; son-in-law Collin Williamson; brothers, Alf Yeo (Elsey Evans) and Percy (Jessie) Yeo; brother-in-law Bill Mason. Heartfelt thanks to Hunter Carmichael who was always there with a caring heart and a helping hand. We will always be thankful to the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their compassionate care that went above and beyond the call of duty. At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, Stonewall. Rev. Kenn Garrity will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension, Stonewall, or Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
