Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySYLVIA ROSE CARTY (nee STOWE) January 19, 1936 - December 15, 2004 With deep sorrow and sadness, we the family announce the peaceful passing of Sylvia Rose Carty on Wednesday, Decem4ber 15, 2004 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Cyril and Rose Stowe (England) and brother Brian (Winnipeg). Remaining to cherish her memory and sadly missed by her loving husband Brian of 50 years; her children, Allan (Jan), Anthony (Gwen), Sharon (Grant); grandchildren, Cynthia, Steven, Ian, Jeffrey and Jennifer; her six brothers and two sisters residing in Burnley, Lancashire, England where she was born, married and had her three children. Mom was the most loving and caring person that we children and grandchildren could ever have been blessed. Her constant kindness, guidance and willingness to help were unconditional. Sylvia had a special love for her pets and cared deeply for all animals, especially those in need. She will also be missed by many friends and neighbours who experienced her kindness. Mom worked in many diverse jobs prior to her 18 year position in the ICU at Grace General Hospital. After her retirement she volunteered as an Auxiliary member at the A.N.A.F. Legion, Unit #283. She loved her work there and made numerous friends especially the ladies and staff involved. Mom's passion was travelling, especially to Maui, HI, her favorite place, dancing, music, gardening and craft work. Her other number one passion was shopping and her motto was shop, 'shop till you drop'. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional nursing staff of 3-Unit 4 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion. As requested, a private family gravesite service will be held on Tuesday, December 21. A public reception will follow at 12:00 noon at the A.N.A.F. Unit 283, 3584 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage, or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Goodbye my family, my life has passed. I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, Love each other, for my sake. For those you love don't go away, They walk beside you everyday. Forever in our hearts.
