HAROLD KING It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Harold King, aged 80, on December 12, 2004 at Seven Oaks General Hospital He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline (nee Rice) and his daughters, Freda (Terry) Robinson and Marilyn (Dr. Martin) Fogel. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, Kelly (Josh) Eskin, Sean Robinson, Matthew Fogel and Leah Fogel. He was predeceased by his son Arthur. Harold was a proud, strong, honest, witty, loving, intelligent, supportive and courageous man. He was a football star, a gifted operetta singer who loved music, and a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. As a member of 17 Wing, he stormed the beaches of Normandy, liberated the concentration camp at Bergen Belsen and he received three medals of honour. When he returned home at the end of the Second World War, he met and married his soul mate Jackie, whom he devoted his life to for 55 years. He had a special relationship with each member of his family. Graveside funeral was held on December 14 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Robinson, Dr. Martin Fogel, Sean Robinson, Josh Eskin, Daniel Eskin and Cantor Anibal Mass. Private shiva. The family wishes to thank Dr. Husarewycz and the staff of the 5th floor, Unit 1 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
