JOHN KOTSCHOREK May 16, 1919 - December 17, 2004 Peacefully on December 17, 2004 at Concordia Hospital our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents Herman, Lena and sister Molly. Dad leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Ivy; children; Linda, Bill (Tannis), Tracey; grandchildren, Clay, Erin, Tyler and Reid, sisters, Anne (John) Mankewicz and Mary (Clarence) Mierke as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dad was born in Rosenheim, Sk. and spent the majority of his childhood farming in Sanford, Mb. He served overseas during the Second World War and was decorated for his heroism. Upon his discharge from the army, Dad returned home to Sanford and married Ivy, his wife of 57 years, then moved to Winnipeg to begin a successful plumbing career, which ended with retirement from the Misericordia hospital. Throughout his retirement, Dad became an avid carver and enjoyed the company of his fellow carvers each week. He was a proud and generous man who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Bergen and the staff at the Concordia hospital N1 North for the wonderful care and compassion they offered our father. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory may be made to the: Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Mb., R3A 1P6 Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
