His memory will be forever cherished and he will be deeply missed by those who mourn his passing, his eight children, Lorraine (Rod) Matheson of Toronto, ON, Louis (Donna) of Winnipeg, MB, Florent (Carole) of Whitehorse, YT, Jeannine (Emile) Carriere of Winnipeg, MB, Louise (Norman) Broesky of Ste. Anne, MB, Alice (Lenard) Doroshuk of Rocky Mountain House, AB, Omer (Stella) of Winnipeg, MB, Evelyne (Roger) Vien of Winnipeg, MB; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Jeanne, Therese and Valentine and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucienne in May 2004; his parents, Louis and Marie (Dumont) Nicolas; his brothers, Jules, Henri, Joseph, Ernest, Julien; a sister Leontine and a grandson Richard Nicolas. He will be fondly remembered for the tremendous love for his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He never cared much for material things, but he really cared for his family. He always teased lovingly and had unique expressions that were so endearing. His smile and chuckle spoke volumes and the touch of his hands warmed our hearts. Tears will never wash away the grief, nor time erase the pain, but our loss today is truly heaven's gain. A special thank you to the staff at the Villa Youville who took the time to make a difference in his life. Services will be held Wednesday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church with viewing a half hour prior to service. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery, and Fr. Rene Chartier will officiate. Donations in Eugene's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. STEINBACH FUNERAL HOME 5 Chrysler Gate Steinbach, MB (204) 326-1351
