ANNIE MARGARET PATRICIA BEAUCHAMP-LATTA (nee PAT MCMILLAN) On Friday, December 17, 2004, at her residence, peacefully with her family at her side, Pat Latta passed into eternal glory. She is survived by her husband William Latta; Ted Latta (Sally) and family; her brothers, Art McMillan of Winnipeg, Alex McMillan (Doreen) of Cambridge, ON; and her sister Vina Main (Bruce) of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her first husband Leo Beauchamp; her parents, David A. McMillan and Mary Ellen Walker; and by sister-in-law Adeline McMillan. Born June 16, 1922 in Arden, MB, moving to Winnipeg with her parents and two brothers. The family had their first home on William Avenue, later moving to Mulberry Avenue in West Kildonan and finally settling on Semple Avenue. She attended Centennial school and graduated from the collegiate a few days before her 16th birthday. Staying home a year because of her young age, she enrolled the following September at Success Business College. She completed the years course in six months and marked papers for the staff for the balance of the year for a small remuneration. Her first job as secretary was at Hudson's Bay House in the Land Titles Department. Later she was hired as corporate executive secretary at Imperial Oil refinery, later moving to their offices on Edmonton Street and finally on Main Street. Her last job before retirement was secretary to Roland Penner, the then Justice Minister of the Manitoba Government. A tiny lady with a very generous heart, affectionately known as Terchie. A favourite aunt to nieces and nephews, Neil McMillan (Diane) and family, Mark McMillan (Ingrid), David Main (Susan) and family, Rob Main, Nancy Hooton (John) and family, and Debbie Westacott (Paul) and family of Cambridge, ON. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomson Funeral Home, Broadway and Sherbrook Street. Pastor Larry Rempel officiating with interment at St. Vital Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Messrs. David, Rob and Daniel Main, Neil McMillan, Nancy Hooton and Debbie Westacott. Dearest Terchie You have been so dearly loved, you will be so deeply missed. Enter His gates with praise and thanksgiving and when we meet again there will be no more tears.
