JOYCE CHAPPLE (nee MARCHANT) April 11, 1914 - December 16, 2004 Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has passed away suddenly, at the age of 90. She will be sorrowfully missed by her three daughters and their husbands, Yvonne (Bonnie) and Peter Sasley, Judy and Art Devlin, and Wendy and Alfie Gentle; her grandchildren, Christopher Pettypiece and Julian Gentle and partner, Kristy, and Jordan Gentle; great-grandchildren, Ethan Lustig and Savanna Gentle; brother Ed Marchant and his wife, Irene; and sister-in-law Maureen Marchant. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Tommie in 1988; and granddaughter, Shelly Turcotte in 1995; and three brothers, Cecil, Harold and Maurice (Butch) Marchant. Mom was six years old when she moved with her family to Winnipeg and has lived here since, growing up in St. James and attending St. Mary's Academy for her senior school years. Mom and Dad raised their family in the West End and we remember many happy times in our house on Sherburn and later Clifton Street - joyous Christmas gatherings, big Sunday dinners with lots of relatives around the table, outings to picnics and ice cream places and summers at the cottage at Winnipeg Beach. After selling her house and moving into an apartment, she regularly took the bus from Wellington Crescent to the Polo Park Shopping Centre to meet and have coffee and a chat with many friends. In her final years, she has been a resident of Amber Meadows where she has been meeting new friends. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Mom's life in the Chapel at Amber Meadows, 320 Pipeline Road, on Wednesday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations will be gratefully accepted by the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, Mb, R3C 3R6 THOMSON Funeral Home - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
