Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA MAY MCNICHOLL (nee LINDSTROM) Eva May McNicholl died on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the Riverview Health Centre. Eva was born on March 12, 1934 in Lavoy, AB and raised on a farm near Viking. Eva was the outside girl on the farm - her Dad's helper. She rode a horse or skied to school. Eva began her Winnipeg life at Eaton's, after hitchhiking to New Orleans and back (with two girlfriends when it was safe to do so). Next she worked as an operator for the MTS which is where she ended her career, in the Plant Dept. Eva played several sports: she was a relief pitcher and a hard hitting outfielder in the St. James Industrial League - a league in which she became the President. She ended her playing days with the Norberry Senior Ladies; she bowled 5-pin with the MTS and was a longtime secretary; and she curled in various leagues. She coached a Norberry Midget A fastball team and served many years as treasurer of Bonivital Minor Softball and Baseball. Eva spent years at her second home at Ingolf, ON. She swam, went on canoe trips, on snowshoe and snowmobile trips and when the lake ice was bad, she became a veteran at crossing the swamp. She was in charge of wood splitting at the camp, first using an axe and then a one-of-a-kind splitter, which was a giant screw. Eva served several years as the secretary of the Ingolf Campers Association. Eva leaves her husband of 43 years Earl; daughters, Lynn (Frank Harrow) and Ila (Greg Haddow); grandchildren, Amanda and Mark McKeown and William Haddow; sisters Violet (nee Cook, Lumley, Johnson) of Vegreville, Doris (Lindstrom, Harry Wade) of Drumheller and Betty (Lindstrom, Ron Warrington) of Hannah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Anna Marie (Baer, Cook) and Axel Lindstrom; brother Ken Cook and sister Lyllia (Cook, Walker, Cwihula). The family extends their thanks to the doctors and staff at the Riverview Palliative Hospital and at Whitemouth-Pinawa. A reception celebrating her life will take place 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 22 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Wife, Mother, Grandmother She was the greatest! Earl, I was so sad to hear the news of Eva's passing. You will miss her very much. We had so many good times together. The last time I saw her was at the hotel in Yorkton. She was on the way home with the grandchildren. I lost Bill , nearly 13 years ago. They will never be replaced. We have all the good memories to cherish and this will make it easier to carry on. Hope to hear from you some time. Darlene Campbell ,Argyle Man - Posted by: Darlene Campbell (Friend) on: Dec 31, 2004
