PEARL BANNISTER (nee NUTTALL) Sadly, we announce the passing of Pearl, peacefully, and with great dignity, on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her son Garry (Tanis) Bannister; daughters, Coral Hetherington and Candace (Gustavo) Conci; grandchildren, Guy and Paige Bannister, Eric and Sean Hetherington; sisters, Ruby (Wally) Prokop and Hazel (Tony) Koks; brothers, Fred (Glenna) Nuttall and George Nuttall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter and her parents Fred and Maud Nuttall. Pearl was always a gentle and kind Lady with an amazing strength of character and will. Proud of her English heritage, her roots in Brooklands and the role she played as the Mayor's wife, Mom was active in her church and community. As a young woman she taught Sunday school, volunteered for charities and the Cubs and Scouts. Steadfast in her sense of values Mom always had advice to give, a story to tell and was at all times interested in the lives of her family and friends. Music played a very significant role in her daily activities. Mom began playing the piano as a young child and continued to play and teach for most of her life. Always interested in learning, she studied both the Manitoba and Toronto Conservatory of Music attaining her teaching certificate. Until the end Mom loved to play her grand piano and to attend the Wednesday Morning Musicale recitals. Another life long love was knitting and crocheting. Countless sweaters, baby outfits, afghans and mittens were made for all members of her family and for the Deer Lodge Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed but there is comfort in knowing she will now have eternity with her true love Walter. Pearl's funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 1:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate Street with Rev. Fletcher Stewart officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Bannister, Guy Bannister, Eric Hetherington, Sean Hetherington, Grant Prokop and Bradley Koks. Heartfelt thanks go to Mom's homecare workers who visited on a daily basis and made it possible for her to remain at home and to the nurses and staff of the Grace General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pearl's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB. R3L OK6 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C OS6. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
