AMELIA AMY OGRODNIK (nee BEMBENEK) It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Amy Ogrodnik on Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 89 years. Amy was the wife of the late Charlie Ogrodnik. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Weselake, Carol Klem, Anna Bembenek, Rose Jurkowski (Henry) and Jean Bembenek; brothers, Tony Bambenek (Betty), August Bembenek (Helen), Nick Bembenek and Paul Bembenek (Helen); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Amy was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Helen Bembenek; sister Bernice Yaniw; brothers, John, Frank, Joe and Martin Bembenek. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave. with Rev. Fr. Henryk Uczniak presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Gordon Klem, David and Brian Bambenek, Ted, Larry and Joe Weselake. Special thanks to neighbour Benny Roberts for his efforts; to the first responders for their lifesaving attempts; to all the physicians and nurses in the ER and Intensive Care Units at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion, and thanks to Pastor Terry Kowch at Health Sciences Centre Chapel.
