ALBERT JAN DEBOER It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Albert Jan DeBoer, on December 18, 2004. Albert is survived by his loving wife Ymie, of 45 years; and daughters, Cindy (Vic), Sherry (Rob), Debbie (John), Kristie (Dave); grandchildren, Victor Jr., Jay, Tessa, Jesse, Dalaney, Branden, Harrison, Rose, Holly, Calvin, Bradley; and his sisters, Gerry and Henny. Pa was predeceased by his parents Douwe and Gerritje DeBoer. Born February 8, 1931, Pa immigrated to Canada in 1954 from the Netherlands. Upholsterer by trade, he resided in East Kildonan with his wife and daughters where he owned and operated Centennial Upholstering for 30 years. Pa loved and appreciated the outdoors. He loved going for long walks through miles and miles of bush. He enjoyed his weekly steams, or chatting over tea with Mom or anyone who came over. Pa loved and adored his family. He took great pride in what his journey from Holland had brought him: a home, business, four daughters, four sons-in-law and 11 grandchildren with a 12th grandchild on the way. Pa took pride in knowing that his daughters married strong, handsome, hardworking men whom he had forged special relationships with, especially Rob who was thought of a son he never had. As per Pa's wishes cremation will take place, and a memorial service will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., on Wednesday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Ormiston and the staff on the 3rd floor of Concordia Hospital with taking care of Pa on his last journey. We would also like to thank the numerous staff throughout that shared condolences with the family on that sad day. Many of the staff treated Pa with great kindness and compassion, along with our mother who walked with our father ever step of this fateful journey. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582 - 0973
