Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILE WILFRID JOSEPH PLAMONDON February 1, 1929 - December 18, 2004 C'est a ton tour - un repos bien merite With his wife Alice (nee Chouinard) and family at his side, Emile passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at St. Boniface Hospital. Emile will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 52 years Alice (mon poteau de confiance); his children, Diane, Gilles (Veronique), Rene (Debbie), David (Joanne), Paul (Anne); and his grandchildren, Leanne, Nicole, Jesse, Chloe, Benny, Jamie, Jean-Eric, Janelle, Christianne, Genevieve. He is survived by his sisters, Paulette Sabot-Desrosiers (Rene), Rolande Nault, Cecile Chouinard, and Rita Pelletier. He was predeceased by his sister Antonia Meyres and his brothers, Maurice and Armand. Emile was born and raised in St. Jean-Baptiste. Soon after he was married, he and Alice moved to Winnipeg to begin their family. He provided for his family as a meat cutter at Safeway for 30 years. He was also a proud member and president of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 832. On his retirement, we brought him home in a limousine for a well-earned time of relaxation. He spent many creative hours building windmill planters, doll houses, and many special requests. During quiet times, he loved to read - Grisham was a favourite. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering for Bombers, Expos, and Jets. Emile will be remembered as a quiet, gentle man whose generosity and smile brought much comfort to his family and friends. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Stephen Henry and the long list of dedicated doctors and nurses who supported his journey to a dignified end. A special thank you to Joanne and David who navigated the way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emile's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association. At his request, cremation has taken place at l'Eglise catholique du Precieux-Sang Pomana Catholic Church. Inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date.
