OLGA GERMAIN (nee SCHMIDT) February 5, 1907 - December 19, 2004 Peacefully, on Sunday, December 19, 2004, at the age of 97 years, Mom went to be with her Lord. Her memory will be cherished by her sons, David (Beverley), Louis (Lorraine); daughter Joyce Hannon; and son-in-law Carl. She is also survived by one brother Albert of Kelowna and one sister Alma of Edmonton. She also leaves many wonderful memories to her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Adolf and Louisa Schmidt; four brothers; two sisters; her husband Rudolf of 60 years, in 1991; her daughter Jean Rosentreter in 2002; and granddaughter Elaine Anhalt in 2003. Mom was born on February 5, 1907 in Rovna, Ukraine and came to Canada in 1913. She married Dad on April 8, 1931 in Millet, AB. Mom and Dad made their home in Beausejour in 1947 and remained here until their death. Mom enjoyed tending her flowers and hosting family gatherings. She loved telling stories of the past and making people smile. Mom was a loving and gentle soul with a happy spirit. She will be remembered in our hearts always. A sincere thank you for the wonderful care Mom received by home care and Beausejour Hospital staff. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour with Rev. Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran cemetery.
