Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY SARAH CHRISTIAN November 14, 1896 - December 20, 2004 Peacefully on December 20, 2004, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the Golden Links Lodge, in her 108th year. Mom was born the only child of Ruth and Alfred Thomas, in Ellesmere, Shropshire, England. Dorothy attended school in Wales and college in Shrewsbury, England. She came to Canada with her parents and worked for several years at the Bank of Montreal. Dorothy met and married Dad, Walter Henry Christian in 1922. Dorothy was an active member at St. Luke's Anglican Church, a volunteer for the Deer Lodge Library and in 1977 received an acknowledgement commemorating 70 years with the Women's volunteer of the Canadian Legion. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband in 1947, daughter Mildred Elizabeth Sells in 1968 and her daughter-in-law Rita Christian in 1997. Left to mourn her passing are her son Eric Christian of Toronto; daughter Ruth Daun of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Gregory Sells (Brenda) of Calgary, Derek (Elizabeth), Linda Christian of Toronto, Lynn (Robert) Kurylko, Diane (James) Crowe of Winnipeg. Great-grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Geoffrey Kurylko of Winnipeg and Kimberly and David Christian of Toronto. Dorothy was a private little lady with great wit and character, caring, considerate and loved to shop. She had fond memories of her childhood, especially the vacations at the seaside at Rhyl in Wales. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. The family would like to extend a very special Thank you to all the staff at the Golden Links Lodge for their compassionate care during her stay.
