Born: Dec 04, 1986
Date of Passing: Dec 20, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBENJAMIN FREDERICK HANCOCK Peacefully, with strength and dignity and surrounded by love, the Lord took Benjamin home on Monday, December 20, 2004. Left to cherish his spirit are parents, Tom and Sandra; sister Kristin (Steve); amazing friend and brother Adam; grandparents, Anne and Jack Rempel; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Born December 4, 1986, Benjamin attended Oak Bluff Elementary, Sanford Collegiate and had started the Automotive Technician program at Red River College. Benjamin enjoyed spending time on his computer and having friends over to watch movies on his big screen television. During summer months, there was golf and fishing, but there wasn't a better feeling than being behind the wheel of his 1982 Cutlass. The fall was duck hunting season followed by the excitement of winter, his favourite season. A diehard Polaris snowmobile rider, he would spend countless hours racing across the back field on his own or with whoever could join him. Benjamin had a great passion for life. His gentle spirit and kind soul, combined with a keen sense of humour and warm smile touched many lives. Even at the end of his journey he was able to see the humour in life and brought smiles to the faces of those around him. Benjamin's family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all of the special people who have touched our lives. Our friends and neighbours whose love and support allowed our family to enjoy our time together. Our medical team, the Macdonald Ambulance unit, CancerCare, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Oncology, Children's Hospital CK5 Unit; and a special thank you to Cathy Bourne, our guardian angel. A celebration of Benjamin's life will be held on Thursday, December 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital, CK5 Unit, Attn: Jackie, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. Our hearts will never forget your smile Benjamin and we will feel your warmth with every snowflake that falls. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy. 284-7500
