INGE SMOLIK (nee CORDES) Peacefully on December 21, 2004, at the age of 75, at Bethania Personal Care Home our Mom left us to go to her new home in Heaven. She will be missed by all that knew her, leaving behind her three sons, Ron Smolik, Peter (Karen) Smolik, Bernie (Rose) Smolik; her five grandchildren, Christiana, Shannon, Pamela, Jeremy and Megan; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Bruno, in 1990 and her brother Werner in West Germany. Inge was born in Plettenberg, West Germany on August 11, 1929. She moved to Canada in 1950 with her husband and ultimately settled in Winnipeg in 1951. She worked at a number of places but ultimately spent most of her work career as a Home Care worker for the province. Wherever Mom went, she left all she met impressed with her pleasant smile and her ability to make everyone at ease. Even her last days with us were marked with calmness and a peace surrounding her. Special thanks to the staff at Bethania and Donwood Personal Care Homes for their care to our Mom. Funeral service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. on December 24, 2004. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, a donation may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3A 1S1 as Mom's heart was always for all children.
