LILLIAN MARGARET ZALUSKY (nee PESCITELLI) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend Lillian Zalusky, who went to be with her angels on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the age of 56 years, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Lillian will forever be missed by her husband Ron of 30 years and their two sons, Kevin (Jackie) and Darren (Amber). Also left to mourn her loss are her parents, Mike and Margaret Pescitelli; brothers, John (Debbie), Michael (Pat), Randy (Cathy), Jeff (Lisa), Ivan, Steven and one sister Karen; step-brother John (Judy) of Delta, BC; father-in-law Walter Zalusky; brothers-in-law, Don (Joyce), Gerry (Doreen), Brian; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Allan); Janette (Scott) of Saskatoon; lifelong friend Diane Bialek and many nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be Lillian's brothers. Lillian was predeceased by her mother-in-law Mary Zalusky and brother-in-law Randy Zalusky. Lillian was born in Winnipeg on July 11, 1948 and raised in Beausejour. She worked in Beausejour in the sewing factory for a short time, then took up hair dressing in Winnipeg. She met Ron in 1970; they married in 1974 and moved to Selkirk, MB where they raised their two sons. They moved to East Selkirk in the fall of 1990. Lillian treasured her family and friends more than anything else in the world. She loved her flowers and her gardening. She made the best brownies. It wasn't a family dinner or supper without Auntie Lil's brownies. She enjoyed listening to country music and playing cards almost every evening. Her day wasn't complete until she made a full course meal for supper. Soup and sandwiches just wasn't enough. She was loved by all who knew her and touched the hearts of many people. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff and nurses at the St. Boniface CancerCare Unit for all their care and support during Lillian's appointments and during the times of her stay in the hospital. A very special thank you to the staff and Lillian's nurses on the Oncology Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. A Prayer service will be held on Tuesday, December 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour, MB. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Chapel with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
