MARIE ANN MARTENS (nee WATSON) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marie Martens on December 24, 2004 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Mom was born in Ile des Chenes, MB on February 18, 1941 to the late George and Ann Watson. She leaves behind to remember her; lifelong companion and husband Ron of 38 years; her children, Rick, Kim (Ray) Neufeld, Mel; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her daughter Rosemary and son Bailey; also her brother George and sister Linda predeceased her. Mom was always known to be a positive influence and loving supporter to her husband, all her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Her love knew no bounds. Her courageous battle with cancer the last year and a half was something that we can admire, she was an amazing woman. She was giving and gracious right to the end. A life well-lived is a precious gift of hope and strength and grace; from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. Its filled with moments sweet and sad, with smiles and sometimes tears, with friendships formed and good times shared and laughter through the years. Special thanks for the exceptional care and love she was shown by her homecare nurses, also the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward. At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, with Pastor Peter Broesky officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Knysh Funeral Chapel of Winnipeg.
