HUGH MACKENZIE Peacefully on December 24, 2004 at Westside Care Centre, Hugh MacKenzie, beloved husband of 64 years of Gertrude, passed away in his sleep. He will be sadly missed by his son Bill and wife Judy; as well as his grandchildren, Kelly (Chad Scott), Kevin (Lynnette) MacKenzie and new baby great-granddaughter Emma, who all meant so much to him. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anne, Mary and brother Andrew and will be missed by his sister Margaret, as well as many nieces and nephews. Hugh gave so much of himself to family and friends and was always there to lend his support and unconditional love. As the staff of Westside said Hugh was the epitome of the word gentleman . Hugh was born in Winnipeg on April 27, 1913, employed by Purity Flour in 1928 where he started a commercial travellers career. That lasted until his retirement in 1978 working out of Dauphin, Galt, Toronto and Winnipeg. Hugh was Past President of Dauphin Travellers and North West Commercial Travellers, Past President (1963) of Khartum Temple Pipes and Drums and Life Member of the Meridian Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite of Winnipeg. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful angels at Westside Care who loved and cared for him as one of their own. At Hugh's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the Diabetes Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of: EVERDEN RUST FUNERAL SERVICES 250 - 860 - 6440
