JOHN (JACK) REID VALENTINE August 31, 1927 - December 26, 2004 Quietly on Sunday, December 26, 2004 surrounded by his family Jack slipped away. Jack was a sweet, humble man of few words but with a great love for his wife and family. He spent 41 years with Canadian Pacific Railway, a job he truly loved and greatly missed after his retirement in 1984. To be caught at a railway crossing was a real thrill for him whereas it was an inconvenience to most everyone else. A true railroader to the end. He shared many a story about his railroading days, his adventures and his coworkers and always with a sparkle in his eye and a chuckle as he told them. Dad was proud of each of us and was there with support no matter what we did. He took each day in stride and luckily he was an easy going individual which made his many hospital stays easier on everyone. He was never one to complain, through it all he held fast to his sense of humour. Jack/Dad left us with a twinkle in his eye and a spot forever in our hearts. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean; daughter Susan; sons, Reid (Sheila), John (Wendy); daughter Trish (John); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret; son-in-law Bryan and brother Bob. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Grace ICU for their care and compassion. At Jack's request cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. May you finally be at peace We love you and will miss you dearly. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
