ANNA SPILAK (nee VERNA) Peacefully with family by her side, Anna passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, MB at the age of 94 years. Anna is lovingly remembered by her children, Anna (Emile) Knizat, Margaret (Arthur) Manaigre, Mary (Norman) Proulx, Fred (Mary) and Martha (Donald) Trudeau; her son-in-law Henry Manaigre; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand on May 18, 1993, daughter Theresa Manaigre on January 8, 1982, granddaughter Beverly Manaigre on April 14, 1963, and her grandson Anthony Manaigre on May 16, 1971. Anna was born in 1910 in Czechoslovakia and came to La Broquerie, MB in 1938 and moved to Ste. Anne in 1947 where she spent the last 12 years at Villa Youville. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their wonderful care and compassion. A special thank you to Sr. Rioux, Sr. Forest and Dr. Gobeil for their kindness and support to Mom and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Anna to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Anne with Fr. Rene Chartier presiding.
