Mom was born at Grund, north of Baldur, MB on March 13, 1917. She attended Antonius and Baldur schools before moving to work in Winnipeg as a young girl. She met her husband Nick at a dance at the Normandy Ballroom and they were married on October 15, 1938. They lived in Winnipeg for a few years before building a home in Charleswood, where Mom lived for over fifty years before moving to Rosewood Lodge in 2000. Mom always enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and after retiring from Eaton's took great pride in her yard. Her four grandchildren brought great joy to her life. In retirement Ruby and Nick enjoyed winters in Texas for many years. Nick passed away while on vacation in Vancouver in 1989. The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their care and compassion. It meant a great deal to the family to have so many friends and neighbours there to help Mom. At Mom's request no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at Grund at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grund Church, Box 267, Baldur, MB, ROK 0B0. Godur Nott
