Face to Face With Christ my Saviour BERTRAM SEADRAVE ANDERSON August 3, 1920 - December 26, 2004 Peacefully, on Sunday, December 26, 2004 surrounded by his loving family and friends, Bert Anderson of Winnipeg was released in prayer by his wife Dolly to meet Jesus, his Lord and Saviour, face-to-face. Bert was born in Balsam Bay, MB on August 3, 1920, and spent his childhood in Victoria Beach. He served overseas in the Second World War with the R.C.A.S.C. returning home safely in January 1946. Bert then met and later married Dolly in December of 1946, homesteading in Victoria Beach until 1953, when he moved his family to Winnipeg, residing in their present home for the past 50 years. Through their 58 years of marriage Bert and Dolly were blessed with eight children, Alice, Esther and Bill (both deceased), Lois (Jeff), Jim (Linda) of Ashern, MB, Gerry (Jo-Anne), Lavona, David (Dale) of Kaslo, BC and Tom (Carolyn); grandchildren, Kirk (Char), Kirby, Courtney (Kari), Conrad, Crystal, Bradley (Amber), Marcia, Laura (Michael), Danny (Maria), David (Celeste), Dawn, Dolly (Stephan), Lisa, Allysen, Tyler, Jessica, Cole and Katie; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Adam, Jensen, Emily, Lexington, Paige, Benjamin and James; and wanna be sister Shirley. Bert is also survived by his sisters, Edna (Marty) Doerksen, Freda (Matt) Frank; and brother Donovan Anderson; as well as numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Dan and Isabella Anderson, and 12 siblings. Bert had many skills, was a real jack of all trades but a master of carpentry which was evident in Grace Chapel, Hilbre Bible Camp and numerous homes across the country. His skills were first learned working alongside Peter Paulson. Bert was a loving, kindhearted man, generous in every way. As a born again believer his service for the Lord was demonstrated in such ways as having his door always open, car ready to go anytime day or night, and forever sharing whatever he had with whoever was in need. Bert was a man of few words, simply spoken with soft words of wisdom. He fellowshipped at Logan Gospel Mission, Grace Chapel and The Maples Community Church and was well respected. He held gospel meetings in numerous small towns and northern communities as well as sharing the gospel with those he came in contact with, whether in word or deed. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7 8 A celebration of Bert's life will take place on Wednesday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 30 at 12:00 noon with viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held at the Maples Community Church, 1640 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will follow at Balsam Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Maples Community Church Landscaping Project, 1640 Leila Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2P 2X6 or to Indian Life Ministries, 188 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1L6. Bert was a real example of the true meaning of a husband, father and grandfather. Arrangements Entrusted To: ANDERSON FAMILY Funeral Home Ashern, Manitoba Telephone (866) 293-4951

  • I will always remember Mr. Anderson's smiling face in greeting whenever me or my family attended Maples Church years ago. He was always kind to us... a real gentle man. I'm sure I had a grandfather like him when I was a child. Goodbye Mr. Anderson. I'll miss your warm hug. My mother, Ann Sinclair said your service was wonderful. I'm glad she read about it and was able to go when I could not. Much love to Mrs. Anderson, Lavona and family.... Marie - Posted by: marie dekleer (Friend) on: Dec 30, 2004
