BRENDA FEHR (SHINKARIK)
Date of Passing: Dec 24, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENDA FEHR (nee SHINKARIK) Peacefully, on the morning of Christmas Eve 2004, Brenda passed away at St. Boniface Hospital with her family at her side. Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her husband Al; her two beautiful daughters, Elliette and Christianne; parents, Robert and Paulette Shinkarik; sister Dawn (Darrell) Gates and nephew Jordan; brother Kevin (Agnes) Shinkarik and niece Kelina; parents-in-law, Ruben and Anne Fehr; sister-in-law Debbie (Mike) Plett and nephews, Nicholas and Jonathan and nieces, Brianna and Shaylyn; as well as many relatives and friends. Brenda was born in Winnipeg on June 23, 1961 and grew up in East Kildonan. She attended school at Lord Wolseley, John Henderson, and Miles Mac. She received her Nursing Diploma in 1982 and worked for many years in the health care profession employed as an Intensive Care Nurse at the Health Sciences Centre, and as an Emergency Nurse at Selkirk General and Concordia Hospitals. Brenda was an extremely talented designer and creator of beautiful things. As someone with a flair for exquisite style, she enjoyed such things as color-scheming homes, choosing furniture and fabric, sewing crafts, arranging preserved flowers, painting, making jewellery, and gardening and landscaping, to name a few. Brenda also liked to go shopping and she had a discriminating taste for good food. Brenda's husband and children meant absolutely everything to her. Brenda and Al were married on October 14, 1988 and were blessed with two beautiful girls. She loved spending every possible moment with her family... leaving them and not being here with them was the hardest thing for her to imagine. She loved going to the family cabin at Winnipeg Beach. She enjoyed hanging out with all of her friends. She always looked forward to every opportunity she could to attend painting class with her friend Cheryl. Brenda was baptized on November 3, 1996. She had such a strong faith in God that never seemed to waiver and always carried her through. She was a sweet fragile soul, who had an incredible will to live and endured her lengthy battle with cancer with dignity and grace. In spite of all the pain she endured, she chose Life, and she chose Love. It's all a choice , she said. I choose to love and be loved. And thank you for your love for me Lord. She was a beautiful woman who had a wonderful sense of humour and we will always remember that signature smile beaming off her face. Thank you to all of the medical staff that were involved in Brenda's care. Thanks and blessings to all of the people who made her feel special and spent time with her (it meant so much for her to just be with you) and to those who helped her and her family in times of need...she was so thankful for having all of you in her life and felt blessed by your generous spirits. A Celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Friday, December 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Eastview Community Church, 3500 DeVries Ave. In accordance with Brenda's wishes, cremation has already taken place. Brenda's ashes will be laid to rest with her Baba in Elmwood Cemetery. In honour of Brenda's memory ... Say a prayer for someone ... Give someone a hug ... Make someone smile In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda's name may be made to World Vision. Gone too soon from our lives, But not from our hearts, Into God's arms for eternal rest. Everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him. Col. 1:16 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Eccl. 3:1 CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
