Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISAAC (ISSY) WEINSHENKER Peacefully, on December 23, 2004, Issy passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elsie; and by his sons, Brian (Vivian) of Rochester, MN, Harold (Renee) and Allan. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Laura, Adam, Elliott, Daniel, Colin and Nathan. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Esther; and his brother Harry. Issy was born in Beltz, Romania on January 1, 1922 and immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of two. He and his brother Harry were self-employed candy manufacturers in a family business in Winnipeg, B. Weinshenker Sons Candy Company, until their retirement in 1986. Issy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose main concern was the welfare of his family. He was dedicated to perpetuating Jewish heritage and traditions throughout his life. He strongly believed in the importance of Jewish education and he took pride in providing a complete Jewish education for his children. Issy always conducted himself with humility and dignity which endeared him to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. The family extends their appreciation to the homecare workers who helped Issy over the past six months, especially Jose and Celina. Funeral services were held at Congregation Etz Chayim on December 26 with interment at B'nay Abraham Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
