KATHERINE (KAY) GENYK (nee HOLIAN) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on December 28, 2004 of our mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother Kay Genyk (Hawryluk). Kay was predeceased by her late husbands, John Hawryluk and Nick Genyk; sister Stella; and brothers, Walter and Pete. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Helen (Frank), Irene (Dave); sisters, Irene and Ann; brother John (Cathy); grandchildren, Lori (Ed), Ron (Karen) and Mike; great-grandchildren, Rick, Brett, Cody and Connor. Mom was born in Sylvan, MB on February 16, 1916, daughter of Bill and Beatrice Holian. She later moved to Winnipeg where she went to work for McLeod's. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 141 of the Canadian Legion. She loved to play bingo and belonged to the Billy Mosienko bowling league where she won many trophies. Family meant everything to mom and one of her greatest joys was getting together with the entire family especially for birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions. She enjoyed this year's special Christmas party for her on December 24th and will be dearly missed by her family. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Francis ward at the Holy Family Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Monday January 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Barbour, Mike Holloway, Rick Porter, Ed Harvie, Ted Holloway and Graham Holloway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Holy Family Nursing Home, Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, or a charitable organization of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
