ROSE SHAYE On Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the Poseidon Care Centre, with her husband at her side, Rose passed away at the age of 77 years. She is survived by her husband, Charlie of 58 years of marriage; son Douglas Shaye (Esther); daughter Valdene Callin (Shaun); grandchildren, Shaye Callin, Michael Shaye (Rachel) and Melanie Shaye (Drew); and sister Frances Hogue. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Fred Letnick; son Ricky; and brother Edward. Rose was a longtime resident of Roselawn Bay and Summerland Apartments. She was very active in the political arena and served on executive positions in many organizations. Rose was a member of the John Black United Church. She was past president of the Manitoba Senior Ladies Curling Association, past president and honorary life member of the Elmwood Ladies Curling Club (Rossmere) as well as past president of the Messonettes (non denominational charity group). A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. Our family would like to express special thanks to Allan and Noreen Greenberg, Mervin and Sonia Michalyshan and Al and Pat Fonseca, as well as to the caring staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, St. Boniface General Hospital Dialysis Units and Poseidon Care Centre, who respectively treated Rose and Charlie as family.
